Tigard Apostille Service in Oregon

Apostille Request Form

Tigard is the closest Washington County city to our Lake Oswego office, about ten minutes east on Highway 217 and Kruse Way, so many Tigard clients simply bring documents in. That is useful for the requests that need checking face to face: a power of attorney that still has to be signed in front of a notary, a stack of family records for a Polish or Italian citizenship application, or company papers where one wrong signature block means starting over.

Tigard’s mix of small businesses along Pacific Highway, the Washington Square area and the Bridgeport corridor also brings plenty of commercial work: certificates of existence for foreign bank accounts, distribution agreements and invoices for overseas buyers. We review it, file it with the Oregon Secretary of State and return it.

Who Apostilles Tigard Documents?

Tigard documents are apostilled by the Oregon Secretary of State, Corporation Division, in Salem, for $10 each. The state authenticates the signature of a public official or Oregon notary, so we make sure each document has one before filing.

Washington County Records for Tigard Residents

Marriage records: Washington County Recording (Tigard marriages)

Marriage licenses issued in Washington County are recorded by the county’s Assessment and Taxation Recording Division in Hillsboro, which issues certified copies. For an apostille the copy must show the printed name of the certifying official.

Court records: Washington County Circuit Court

Divorce judgments, adoption decrees and name changes come from the Washington County Circuit Court in downtown Hillsboro. Ask for a certified copy.

Birth and death certificates

Washington County vital records can issue certificates for about six months after the event; older records come from the Oregon Center for Health Statistics.

  2. Get the document to us. Mail it with tracking or drop it off. Tigard clients usually use our Lake Oswego office: 5 Centerpointe Dr, Suite 400, Office 87, Lake Oswego, OR 97035 (Mon–Fri 9–5).
  3. We check it and file it. Our courier hand-carries Oregon documents to the Secretary of State in Salem; nothing goes through the state mail queue.
  4. We send it back to you or straight to the person abroad, with tracking.

What if the country doesn't accept apostilles?

Countries outside the Hague Convention, such as the UAE, Qatar, Vietnam and Egypt, need embassy legalization instead. We handle that chain too and quote it before we start.
