Ukraine Apostille Service

Apostille Request Form

Ukrainian families in the U.S. often need to act in Ukraine without traveling there. The most common request by far is a power of attorney (dovirenist) that lets a relative or lawyer sell property, manage a bank account, handle an inheritance or deal with documents for a child. Marriage, birth and divorce records are needed to update civil status or register children, and death certificates for inheritance cases.

Ukraine has been a Hague Convention member since 2003, so U.S. documents need an apostille from the state that issued or notarized them. Ukrainian consulates in the U.S. can certify some documents themselves, but they do not apostille U.S. documents.

Does Ukraine Accept Apostilles?

Yes. Ukrainian notaries, courts and registry offices accept apostilled U.S. documents. Some prefer a power of attorney signed at a Ukrainian consulate instead; ask your Ukrainian notary which they accept.

Documents Most Often Apostilled for Ukraine

  • Powers of attorney for property, bank, inheritance and family matters.
  • Marriage certificates and divorce decrees.
  • Birth certificates for registering children and citizenship matters.
  • Death certificates for inheritance.
  • Consent-to-travel letters for minors.

Ukrainian Translation

Ukrainian notaries usually require a Ukrainian translation, often with the translator’s signature notarized in Ukraine. A bilingual power of attorney (English and Ukrainian side by side) can simplify this. We provide certified Ukrainian translations for $65 per document.

How Our Ukraine Apostille Service Works

  1. Tell us the documents and the country. Call (971) 514-3743 or use the form above. We confirm which version of each document you need.
  2. We route each document to the right authority. State documents (birth, marriage and divorce records, notarized papers) go to the Secretary of State of the state that issued or notarized them. Federal documents, such as FBI background checks and naturalization-related records, go to the U.S. Department of State.
  3. We return the apostilled documents to you, or ship them directly abroad with tracking.
