UAF admissions and translated transcripts
The University of Alaska Fairbanks catalog tells international applicants to submit certified official secondary school or university transcripts together with English translations. Documents must be signed and sealed by a registration official of the institution attended.
UAF also directs applicants to send official transcripts to SpanTran or World Education Services (WES) for a course-by-course credential evaluation. Transcripts from Canadian institutions outside Quebec are exempt and can come directly from the school. The catalog lists March 1 as the international undergraduate deadline for fall and September 1 for spring.
A translation and a credential evaluation are different things. We translate the transcript and diploma. The evaluation service decides the US equivalent.

Alaska apostille: sending documents from Fairbanks to Juneau
An apostille for an Alaska document comes from the Office of the Lieutenant Governor, the only office in the state that issues them. In-person service is offered at the Juneau office alone and requires an appointment, so a Fairbanks request goes by mail or courier unless you travel to Juneau.
Include the office’s order form, which asks for your contact details, the destination country and a return address, and the fee of $5.00 per certificate. Mail goes to the Authentications Department, P.O. Box 110015, Juneau, AK 99811. FedEx and UPS deliveries go to 240 Main Street, Room 301, Juneau, AK 99801. The office accepts personal checks, money orders, cashier’s checks, Visa and Mastercard.
The office states that it tries to return a completed order the same day it is received and that First Class USPS return mail takes 2 to 3 days within Alaska. Notarized documents need an original signature, a notarial certificate, the notary’s signature, the commission expiration date and a clear seal. We can help you prepare an apostille request.
